tornado-2.jpgIn the last week or so, dozens of people died as the result of ravaging twisters. Again, most of the victims thought it couldn’t happen to them. Whole towns were wiped out. This may be the worst year in recorded history for both numbers of tornadoes and number of deaths. But no matter where you live, natural disasters occur all over in the forms of hurricanes, sandstorms, earthquakes, tornadoes, floods, windstorms, etc. To help protect yourself and your family, you should take precautions. Hurricanes and Tornadoes Continue to Plague the Country

atlanta.jpgAre we getting more and more of these disasterous storms now? Or are we just hearing about them with increased news coverage. Last week, the mid-Atlantic States and yesterday the mid-west. Seems every day we hear about another storm and people either being evacuated or displaced from their homes. And more than likely, no one will have any emergency plans or supplies in place. Why? Because most people think it can’t happen to them. So why spend money on a contingency item for something you may never need. So what is your life worth? Or any else’s for that matter. It doesn’t matter where you live or what part of the country or world. Things happen when you least expect it. Disaster Recovery Supply has vital information to assist you in being aware and prepared.

Mild Recession Is A Hoax! Who Are They Trying To Kid!

worldfoodcrisis6-nobutton.jpgWhile the middle class and above may cope with the rising cost of gasoline, most Americans can’t. Gasoline is a must-have commodity and we have to have it in order to buy the staples we need to live. If we can’t afford to drive out of our driveways, what are our options. We are being forced to cut back on the things we previously enjoyed as Americans. Things such as cable TV, movies, restaurants, cell phones, sporting events, visiting distant relatives and others. Who ever heard of $3-4 dollar milk shakes at McDonald’s, Burger King, etc. Eggs at $3-4/dozen. Milk at $4-5/gallon. There is no mild recession and we are in for some real tough times. Now there are more reasons for people to become aware of disaster recovery kits when we can no longer drive down the street.

And it gets worse! The world hunger crisis is all over the news this week. In just three years, the price of staple foods like wheat, corn and rice has almost doubled. The soaring cost of staple foods and the resulting hunger crisis has caused riots from Haiti to Bangladesh, threatens hundreds of thousands of people with starvation and could push one hundred million more people deeper into poverty. This is worse than hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, etc. At least, you have a chance  for survival with disaster recovery supplies.

tornado.jpgDisaster Recovery Supply meets the needs for emergency preparedness. Living in this precarious world, you need to be prepared for any emergency that you may face. Whether it be a natural disaster prevalent in your geographic area, such as an earthquake or tornada or a hurricane, or a man made disaster, such as a terrorist attack or fire, you need to have emergency kits with the proper survival supplies. In the event of a catastrophic disaster, emergency personnel will be overwhelmed and unable to assist all those in need of medical and rescue attention. Katrina Recovery Efforts Explained by Bill Clinton-Brad Pitt

clinton-pitt.jpgBill Clinton was just interviewed by Greta Van Sustern in New Orleans regarding the rebuilding in the Katrina disaster area as well as many other locations around the world. A new web site at www.kiva.org explains in detail how anyone can loan monies to these different entreprueners for restoration efforts. Anywhere from $25 on up. I thought it would be a good idea to help spread this ideal thought. For emergency disaster recovery kits, we invite you to visit us.

Tornadoes Can Hit Anywhere – Does It Matter Where You Live?

atlanta.jpgWho would have ever thought that tornadoes would hit downtown Atlanta on an early Friday night. No way! They only hit out in the country. Well, they did strike Atlanta back in 1975, but who remembers that? Sitting here watching a basketball game was just a fun day day. Then hearing on cell phones that tornadoes are in the area. So what. I’m in the big city having a beer and watching my favorite team when all of a sudden things started to sway up above. It must have been karma that they didn’t hit this arena. Instead, trashing the rest of the town. But what if? Okay, maybe it would have been a good idea to have a personal fanny pack survival kit with me. You just never know.

Would A UFO Attack Count for Emergency Preparedness?

ufo.jpgWhat would happen if a UFO showed up and rained destruction on a city. Far fetched? Well, they’re still talking about the Roswell incident in the 1940’s. I was listening to the Coast-To-Coast show last night (as I have for the last 10-15 years) and their usual topic was UFOs and other unidentified objects. A big controversy is the lack of media coverage when UFOs are seen, even by dozens of people. Our government keeps supressing anything related to this subject. Are they real? Personally, I have never seen one. But the way they talk, I always wonder if I’m the only one who has never seen one. If so, I feel left out. But, “what if?” Should I buy one of those great emergency disaster supply kits that are offered. In reality, you never know what type of disaster can hit. Something to think about.

San Diego Was Unprepared for Deadly Firestorms

wildfire.jpgSaid former San Diego fire chief…”we want the public to know that this region is completely unprepared for this knd of event” when referring to the recent wildfires.

And there are many other types of disasters where people aren’t prepared. You can’t just simply rely on public services to get you out of trouble. Everyone must take their own action and responsility to protect themselves and their loved ones with personal survival kits. If a new car came without a spare tire, would most people go out and buy one? Maybe not because only the other guy gets a flat. Or you belong to AAA or other club to get you out of trouble. Well, what if you were stuck someplace and couldn’t get help right away. Or if you could not contact somebody. Disaster Recovery Supply does offer some solutions. Check them out.

Recent Tornados Help Create Sense Of Urgency For Survival Kits

damage206a1.jpgThe most effective preparation for the next storm could be a healthy dose of fear triggered by lingering images of this month’s disaster.

“A lot of it is just members of the public taking seriously that it can happen,” said Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen, who toured stricken areas. “You get a little more convinced each one you see.”

“Part of what saved lives here was there are people who are experienced and who have thought about what to do when there is a tornado,” Chertoff said Thursday after a tour.

“When they give out tornado warnings, if this doesn’t put you in the mood to listen, I don’t know what will,” a reporter said, looking at a relative’s ruined house in Lafayette last week. “When they say take cover, you take cover. And you pray. And make sure you have an emergency survival kit with you. You never know if your home will be nothing more than a concrete slab”

“It happened so fast,” she said, adding she didn’t know whether sirens would have caused her to react differently.

“It’s human nature not to think it’s going to hit you,” one observer said. “I think we’ll all take the next one more seriously.”
