It’s Not The Economy Stupid! It’s The price Of Oil!!!!!!!!

scull.jpgAre we in a recession? Absolutely!!!  Why does the value of our dollar keep falling? Why is it now cheaper for foreign visitors to come here?  It’s the price of oil stupid!!! You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out.  Why does the mainstream media keep skirting the issue? Because they are all liberals. In fifty years give or take, we will not be the United States of America anymore. We will be a socialist republic.  When oil was $30/barrel, gas was under a buck. You never though twice about filling your tank. We could all buy a loaf of bread and milk. We traveled and enjoyed ourselves. Not anymore. All the money spent on fuel is going back overseas and not in this country’s pocket. And when bread and milk cost our whole paycheck, there will be anarchy on the streets. We will not be a civilized country anymore. I firmly believe the Scull and Bones Society is alive and well! Disaster Recovery Supply!

San Diego Was Unprepared for Deadly Firestorms

wildfire.jpgSaid former San Diego fire chief…”we want the public to know that this region is completely unprepared for this knd of event” when referring to the recent wildfires.

And there are many other types of disasters where people aren’t prepared. You can’t just simply rely on public services to get you out of trouble. Everyone must take their own action and responsility to protect themselves and their loved ones with personal survival kits. If a new car came without a spare tire, would most people go out and buy one? Maybe not because only the other guy gets a flat. Or you belong to AAA or other club to get you out of trouble. Well, what if you were stuck someplace and couldn’t get help right away. Or if you could not contact somebody. Disaster Recovery Supply does offer some solutions. Check them out.

Oneida Prospect New York 1901 Manuscript by Walters

enis-bemis.JPG1901 MANUSCRIPT entitled ENIS BEMIS by C.F.WALTERS

I have a handwritten manuscript story Copyrighted in 1901 entitled ENIS BEMIS by C.F.WALTERS of Prospect, New York (Oneida County). The story begins in Upstate New York with Enis and his wife Jerusha. They were farmers who lived in Watertown, NY and had a 16 year old son who was blind since childhood. Their ambition was working hard and saving their money so they could move to New York City and live a life of luxury and show the world that their only son could show off his natural abilities as a piano player and tuner. The manuscript has 275 pages and is complete. It is in good condition with original binding. It should be of interest to rare book collectors and historians. We are looking for someone with knowledge of this time period who may be familiar with the author and interested in purchasing this 100 plus year old manuscript. If you or anyone out there have knowledge of the author and/or the subject matter, we would appreciate hearing from you.  We can also send additional pictures of the contents. Please email me.

Additionally, we have noticed in researching Oneida County, New York, there is mention of some experiences with Hurricane Katrina.  Being able to survive in any kind of storm situation requires advance emergency preparation.

Hurricane Help For Mom and Dad From Afar

retiree1.jpgCaring for Mom and Dad from afar if hurricane or other storms approach!

Between 5 million and 7 million Americans care for an older relative from afar — at least one hour away, according to the AARP. “The need is so great, and the out-of-town kids feel so helpless,” says Dr. Eric De Jonge, director of geriatrics at Washington Hospital Center. Many Americans face the heartache of how to take care of aging parents from afar. They are often worried and always guilt-ridden, not to mention intensely busy with a demanding job, raising kids and the frequent trips. They fear there’s going to be a huge disaster and nobody will be able to come right away “That’s the huge fear — that there will be something horrible and nobody will notice and it will be hours before I can get there”……….I heard someone say.

So what do you do when you live a continent away from your aging, ailing parents? As the AARP aptly puts it, there are no magic answers. You can hire someone to help — there’s a cottage industry of companies that help far-flung family members, but you can’t outsource it completely. Emergency Disaster Recovery Kits are readily available and make great gifts for loved ones. It’s at least some comfort for those living in the north to know that their aging parents at least have  a disaster kit handy for themselves and their pets.

You may not need to be there the minute disaster happens. But it’s good to know there’s a system in place. You need a telephone tree — someone who at any time of day or night will be the first-response person.
