As they say. it’s better to be fore-armed than fore-warned. And nothing is further from the truth regarding being prepared in advance than suddenly be warned to evacuate in an emergency. Even if you have a day or two to get emergency supplies, it will cost you more and you may not get all you need for extended time away from your home. Too many people do not prepare for contingencies because they think it won’t happen to them. Just because the 2003-05 hurricane seasons saw a break in hurricane frequency, there’s no reason to think that break will continue. And many disasters happen when you least expect them.
